I was feeling quite positive this morning; it's Thursday, tomorrow is Friday... I've got a nice weekend to look forward to and not too much ironing to do tonight. That was before I left the house. Now, I'm feeling a bit grumpy and fed up. The Piccadilly Line was having a meltdown this morning, with smoke in the tunnel; signal failures; people being taken ill and the wrong type of air floating around (probably). So I ended up being about half an hour late for my 9am shift. I turned up to work feeling hungry and badly needing a wee. To top it off because someone messed up the rota (they know who they are) I now have to work until 6pm, instead of skipping some breaks to make up for my lateness. Dammit. Only consolation is I get to go early tomorrow.
I still have my P.M.R today and now I'm not feeling in a good mood for it. Oh, well, there aren't supposed to be any surprises so it shouldn't be too stressful. Roll on the end of the month and my pay rise. Also have a new manager starting so should be an interesting period.
Anyway, enough of work. 'Big Brother' ends tomorrow and as another group of idiots prepare to be booed/welcomed back into the real world, I was thinking: Where are all the forgotten ones now? I mean, we get to hear about some of them - the ones that just won't give up (Brian Dowling, for example) - but what of Anna from Big Brother 1? I need to know if her time on BB made her return to the convent... Yes, I am that sad (but apparently kind of loveable with it). So, I have undertaken some research and found out:
"Anna Nolan fronts the BBC Choice TV show "Anna In Wonderland" visiting exotic locations around the world." (source: http://www.thebubbleburst.co.uk/bb.php?entry=Big%20Brother%201)
Ok! But does she still? Does BBC Choice even exist anymore?
Then I found this on the BBC Website, from a few days ago:
"Anna Nolan, from the first series, hosts a magazine programme, The Afternoon Show, in Ireland."
A-ha! Only in Ireland though... Oh well!
Finally I hit the jackpot with Wikipedia (which on reflection I should have started with...): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Nolan It has a bit of info, links and a nice picture of her looking very glamorous as well. It seems she is still with the same girlfriend too, so that makes a change!
This led me to the 'Afternoon Show' site: http://www.rte.ie/tv/theafternoonshow/story/presenters.html
"Anna Nolan, who first came to our attention as the Big Brother runner-up, has enjoyed very successful television times since. Her eponymous series 'Ask Anna' and her work on the last two series of ''Would You Believe' harnessed her natural empathy and ease on camera - proving a winning combination with audiences. She has recorded a new series 'Anna In Wonderland' for BBC3 and has also co-presented two series of 'Closure' with Davina McCall for the same channel. She also presented a new 3-part series 'Drawing The Line' for RTÉ in Autumn 2005."
I want to see 'Ask Anna'! It's nice to see she has been so successful and a shame she is not mentioned that much in England. I would much rather people thought of her when they thought of lesbian housemates instead of 'Kitten' (wonder what she is up to?! heh.) I will at least be able to catch the BBC3 series anyway.
Now I can rest easy in my bed. Phew!
