I am a squirrel

I'm trying this healthier eating thing again. I eat quite well normally but I do have a weakness for junk. Anyway, I've found a great solution to mid-morning munchies: nuts. I am a big nut fan. A nut freak basically. I've always liked nuts (stick with me, it will get a tiny bit more interesting I promise!) but salty ones usually, now I've left the salt behind and I'm all about natural brazils, almonds, cashews and sultanas. I find a little pot of them really fills you up...

Anyway, I started thinking: How do people develop nut allergies, anyway? Could it be to do with eating too many nuts? Or is it just an intolerance that lays dormant, until one day a peanut pushes you over the edge? (I wouldn't put it past a peanut - they are the most unpredictable of nuts after all). Have you ever had a handful of peanuts or peanut m&ms and found 1 or 2 that taste kind of nasty? I HAVE! There's a reason why too... apparently they are often contaminated with a mold and also are the most pesticide heavy nuts... Hmmm, maybe that's why they are one of the cheapest nuts? Also, check out this blogger's comments about bad peanuts in his 'peanut cluster' (a US chocolate bar)

Just keep an eye out for them, that's all!

On a less nutty note: check out peaches' website, also the t-shirts are great! I want one! If you haven't heard her load the boombox at the top and listen to 'slippery dick' (it will get stuck in your head - horrible thought!!).
