Mr. Wobbly-head strikes again

Both of us were so tired last night; we stayed up to watch the Dawn French women in comedy thing and became a bit zombified... ended up staying awake for another hour watching 'This Year's Love': a film we had wanted to see but never got around to before.
It started off well enough, but turned into that most typically british of ensemble pieces about crap relationships in the big city, with completely unbelievable coincidences and no plot to speak of (unless you count "I love you/you shagged her/I hate you/I'm going to shack up with him" scenarios). Kathy Burke, as a lonely, arsenal supporting airport cleaner, who ends up with a 'celtic forever' tattoo on her arse (don't ask), was making it bearable until... she uttered those words that every film fan dreads: "Actually, I'm in band..." Nooooo! The horror of Rob Lowe, "playing" the sax in 'St Elmo's Fire', the whole of 'The Commitments', the musical numbers in the L Word - all flashed before me... could it be worse?
IT WAS! There was Kathy, as natural behind the keyboards as she would be in 'playboy', miming away with none other than David 'my head is about to fall off' Gray!! Yes, 'This Year's Love' was so unoriginal it had Gray singing the title song and appearing in two overlong scenes of live pub band action. Anyway, the laughter that ensued shook us out of our living dead state and we went to bed... shit film, though - be warned!

Oh, and if ever a singer's website was a reflection of the artiste it's David Gray's - check out the colour scheme! SO DULL.
